Elemi Essential Oil, botanical Name Canarium Luzonicum, extract from Elemi's gum by steam distillation, has a very long history of use in skin care and for respiratory complaints. It is very effective for all chest infections, especially where there is a lot of Phlegm, such as in chronic bronchitis. Catarrh and sinusitis, it can helped by steam inhalations of Elemi. It is an excellent skin-care oil, especially for mature skin. It has a general rejuvenating effect and reduces wrinkles, its also antiseptic and speeds healing, used it with good results for sore, chapped skin and allergic rashes.

It a wonderful oil to burn during meditation, It is an harmonising oil, bringing mind, body and spirit into alignment with each other, and induces a deep calm without any drowsiness. The same properties make Elemi helpful for anybody who is stressed, especially when stress has led to exhaustion.

Elemi is a tropical tree, it exudes a resin that is steam distilled to produce the essential oil. The oil is yellowish with a very pleasant aroma, somewhat like Frankincense with a slight hint of lemon. Its main constituents are elemol, eleicine, dipentene, terpineol, limonene and phellandrene.
