Carnauba Wax botanical name Copernicia Cerifera, appearance is a yellow, hard, brittle and flaky. Carnauba Wax is a hard wax from the Brazilian grown palm Copernicia cerifera. In fact it is the hardest of the known plant-derived natural cosmetic waxes and It has a very low waxy-type odour. When used in formulations, Carnauba Wax blends well with other butters, oils and waxes, consequently raising the overall melt point and hardness of the finish product. This makes it an ideal choice of ingredient if you are making solid lip balm in tubes or lipsticks. Your product will be more heat resistant and retain its shape better. It provides firm consistency with a pleasant sheen and creates the perfect glossy texture in lip balms. Carnauba Wax properties non-gelling thickener, viscosity and consistency enhancer, emollient and moisturizer, it also provides good texture and stability to create a cream due to high melting point.
How To Used :
Its melt point is 78-85 degrees Celsius. When heated it melts to a pale yellow colour that is easily altered by dye or other colorants. Soluble in oils and alcohol.
