Botanical name Olea Europaea, extract from fruits by cold pressed virgin. Olive oil ranges from a heavy dark green to a light pale golden colour. The intensity of its fruity fragrance and flavor corresponds to its depth of color. It is has a history as a healing oil. VIRGIN-PRESSED olive oil is high in monounsaturated fatty acids, and is helpful in preventing heart disease and high cholesterol. It is also effective for treating constipation, fatigue, hypertension, and rheumatism. Olive oil is the preferred base oil for making salves, hair care, cosmetics, skin soothing.

A carrier oil with excellent lubricity, pale colour and low odor. Olive oil is considered an especially good carrier for essential oils. Its unsaponifiable fraction is described also as a type of precursor, although not a biological one, with some claims of its targeting epidermal keratinocytes and stimulating the synthesis of such substances as collagen, elastin, proteoglycans, and glycoproteins. Used 10 percent dilution.
