Ester of isopropyl alcohol and myristic acid (vegetable-derived from Palm or Coconut). Low viscosity fluid non-greasy emollient, thickening agent, tolerates wide pH range, compatible with most surfactants. Thanks to its low viscosity and density, it has a high spreadability. Colorless oil-like liquid. No or little odor. Specific gravity 0.85 (at 20°C).

Properties :

Lubricant or moisturiser in beauty products. in cosmetic manufacturing, this ingredient is used to give the finished product a slicker, smoother feel rather than an oily one. Superior emollient for non-greasy bath, body and baby oils, lubricant and compression aid for pressed powders. Light and non-tacky emollient for creams and lotions. Readily adsorbed by the skin. When used at high concentrations it gently lifts makeup and surface dirt. Glosser for hair grooms. Resistant to oxidation. Widely used as diluent for fragrance oils. This all-natural ester is used to empart a dry yet moisturising feel to skin creams. In addition, it is also used to help solubilise actives such as sunscreens, vitamins and perfumes into a base.

How To Used :

Can be added to formulas as is, add to oil phase. Most often used at between 1-10%. Required HLB: 11.5. Storage: Stable when kept in a closed container at a cool and dry place. For external use only. Insoluble in glycerine and water, but soluble with silicones, hydrocarbons, and in alcohol. Recommend use in aftershaves, shampoos, bath oils, anti-perspirants, various creams and lotions.
