Eucalyptus Essential oil Blue Gum, botanical name Eucalyptus Globulus, extract from Eucalyptus's leaves by steam distillation, although blue gum is the most widely used variety, a less well know species. The oil can be distilled from young and old leaves. It is pale yellow in colour, with a penetrating and refreshing smell that is too familiar to need description. Some report recorded a spray containing 2% essential oil of Eucalyptus will kill 70% of staphylococci in the air.

Eucalyptus deters mosquitoes and in fact insects in general will be inclined, blend oil perhaps with Bergamot, Lavender, Lemongrass or any of the other insect repellent oils. The oil can keep room smelling fresh and to keep flies out, and it is another oil which is used as both a deodorant and flea deterrent.
