Tea Tree Essential oil, Botanical name Melaleuca Alternifolia, extract from Tea Tree's leaves by steam distillation. Tea Tree oil has a very wide range of applications, and all depend on two important inter-related facts. This oil is unusual in that it is active against all three categories of infectious organisms, bacteria, fungi viruses. It is a very powerful immunostimulant, so when the body is threatened by any of these organisms, Tea Tree Essential Oil increases its ability to respond. The immunostimulant action of Tea Tree Essential oil is perhaps its most important property, and is especially useful in debilitating illnesses, and for people who repeatedly succumb to infections or who are very slow to recover from any illness. It is valuable for colds, influenza and the infectious illnesses. If used in the bath at the first signs of a cold or flu, one of the effects is to stimulate profuse sweating, which has long been recognized in naturopathy and other forms of natural healing as a valuable response to infection. Very cleansing, reducing pus in infected wounds as well as boils and carbuncles. Seems to clear spots and blemishes caused by chicken pox and shingles. Useful with burns, sores, sunburn, ringworm, warts, tinea, herpes and athlete's foot. Helpful with dry conditions of the scalp as well as dandruff.
