Description
Mandarin Essential oil, Botanical name Citrus Madurensis, extract from Mandarin's crude peel by cold pressed. Mandarin is in treating digestive problems, as it has a tonic and stimulant effect on both the stomach and liver. Its effect on the intestines id calming, in common with both Neroli and Orange, and it has been found to be even more effective when used in a synergistic combination with other citrus oils. Mandarin is often chosen to help with the upsets of childhood, including burps and hiccoughs. 1%-2% dilution in almond oil can be gently massaged into the tummy, always in a clockwise. It could be a wise choice of oil for anybody who is a little fragile, particularly the elderly. It is excellent component of massage oils for the prevention of stretch marks, 1 drop each of Lavender, Mandarin and Neroli to 10ml of almond oil with 2ml of wheatgerm oil is a good blend. It is also commonly used in soaps, cosmetics and perfumes. Also has many applications in the flavoring industry.
The essential oil has a very delicate aroma, true to the scent of the fruit, and is golden yellow in colour. The major constituents are limonene, methl anthranilate and smaller amounts of geraniol, citral and citronellal.
