Cocoamidopropyl betaine is a viscous pale yellow transparent liquid, derived from the fatty acids of coconut oil and is chemically classed as a betaine. It can be used as a miscellaneous skin-conditioning agent, surfactant cleaning agent, foam booster or an aqueous viscosity-increasing agent, surfactant in bath products like shampoos and hand soaps, and in cosmetics as an emulsifying agent and thickener, and to reduce irritation purely ionic surfactants would cause. It also serves as an antistatic agent in hair conditioners. It is a medium strength surfactant which most often does not irritate skin or mucous membranes. Some studies indicate it is an allergen. It also has antiseptic properties, making it suitable for personal sanitary products. It is compatible with other cationic, anionic, and nonionic surfactants.
How To Used :
Added to formulas usual concentration 4%-40%. Applications in body wash, shampoo, bubble bath, cleansing lotion, cream, hand soap, body products, hair conditioners and cream rinses etc.
